I Nidi di Belforte is situated on a
working farm 6 miles northeast of Dicomano next to the village of Corella. "I
Nidi" consists of nine 2-floor townhouses each named after a different local
bird.
Each residence has been scrupulously
restored. They are managed by the Neri family, owners of the surrounding farm.
Each house is complete with antique furnishings, bedding, silverware, cooking
utensils, linens, etc. Facilities include a swimming pool, a large outdoor
barbecue, and a communal laundry. The crowding glory of "I Nidi" is the
unparalleled panorama of the Apennines and the Upper Mugello valley.
"I Nidi" is an island of serenity halfway
up the side of a mountain. There's a private garden that's made for an afternoon
with a book. It has immediate access to any number of hiking and cycling trails.
For the person seeking a place to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside in a
natural and tranquil setting, we can do no better than to recommend "I Nidi di
Belforte".
In addition, "I Nidi" can arrange
excursions to the nearby Falterona National Park, canoe trips, tennis, trekking
and similar activities.
The nearby (6 miles) town of Dicomano has
three supermarkets, a pharmacy, train and bus station, a variety of restaurants
and a wonderful open market on Saturday morning.
